Using the Browser Extension (Highly Recommended)

1. Why Use the Browser Extension?
The MyGlue browser extension makes password management seamless by:
  • Auto-filling usernames and passwords on websites
  • Automatically detecting login forms
  • Saving new passwords as you create them
  • Quickly accessing passwords without opening MyGlue
  • Generating strong passwords during account creation
2. Download and Install
For Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Brave:
  1. Open your browser
  2. Visit the Chrome Web Store
  3. Search for "MyGlue" or get the link from your administrator
  4. Click "Add to Chrome" (or "Add to Edge"/"Add to Brave")
  5. Click "Add Extension" when prompted
  6. The MyGlue icon will appear in your browser toolbar
For Mozilla Firefox:
  1. Open Firefox
  2. Visit Firefox Add-ons
  3. Search for "MyGlue"
  4. Click "Add to Firefox"
  5. Click "Add" when prompted
  6. The MyGlue icon will appear in your browser toolbar
For Safari:
  1. Check if Safari extension is available from your admin
  2. Download the Safari extension file or visit the App Store
  3. Follow installation prompts
  4. Enable the extension in Safari Preferences > Extensions
3. First-time Setup
Log in to the extension:
  1. Click the MyGlue icon in your browser toolbar
  2. Enter your organization's MyGlue URL
    • Example: yourcompany.myglue.com
  3. Enter your email and master password
  4. Complete MFA verification if prompted
  5. Click "Sign In"
Configure extension settings:
  1. Click the MyGlue icon
  2. Click the "Settings" or gear icon
  3. Review and adjust these options:
    • Auto-fill on page load: Enable for automatic filling
    • Show icon in password fields: Helps identify fillable fields
    • Auto-save new passwords: Prompts to save when you create accounts
    • Auto-lock: Set timeout for security (recommended: 15 minutes)
  4. Click "Save"
4. Using the Extension to Fill Passwords
Auto-fill method (easiest):
  1. Navigate to a website login page
  2. The MyGlue extension detects the login form
  3. A small MyGlue icon appears in the username/password field
  4. Click the icon or use the keyboard shortcut
  5. Select the correct account if multiple exist
  6. Username and password are filled automatically
  7. Click "Sign In" on the website
Manual fill method:
  1. Navigate to any website
  2. Click the MyGlue icon in your browser toolbar
  3. The extension opens showing matching passwords for this site
  4. Click on the account you want to use
  5. The credentials are filled into the page
  6. If not auto-filled, click "Fill" or "Copy"
Keyboard shortcut (fastest):
  1. On any login page, press Ctrl+Shift+L (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+L (Mac)
  2. The extension shows matching credentials
  3. Click the account or press Enter
  4. Credentials are filled automatically
5. Saving New Passwords with the Extension
When creating a new account:
  1. Go to a website and create a new account
  2. When you reach the password field, click the MyGlue icon in the field
  3. Click "Generate Password"
  4. The extension creates a strong random password
  5. Adjust length/settings if needed
  6. Click "Use Password" - it's filled into the form
  7. Complete the account creation
  8. After submitting, the extension prompts: "Save this password to MyGlue?"
  9. Review the details:
    • Website URL (auto-detected)
    • Username/email you entered
    • Generated password
  10. Choose a folder and add tags if desired
  11. Click "Save"
  12. The password is now stored in MyGlue!
When changing a password:
  1. Change your password on the website
  2. After submitting the new password, the extension detects the change
  3. A prompt appears: "Update password in MyGlue?"
  4. Click "Update" to save the new password
  5. The existing entry is updated automatically
6. Accessing MFA Codes from Extension
  1. Navigate to a website that requires MFA
  2. Enter your username and password (auto-filled by extension)
  3. When the MFA prompt appears, click the MyGlue icon
  4. The matching account shows with the current 6-digit MFA code
  5. Click "Copy" next to the MFA code
  6. Paste it into the website's MFA field
  7. The code refreshes every 30 seconds
Quick access:

10. Troubleshooting the extenSion

Using the Web Dashboard

1: Initial login & account Setup
1.1 First-Time Login
  1. Check your email for the MyGlue invitation from your administrator
  2. Click the "Accept Invitation" or "Get Started" button in the email
  3. You'll be directed to your organization's MyGlue portal (e.g., yourcompany.myglue.com)
  4. Create your master password:
    • Use at least 12 characters (16+ recommended)
    • Include uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
    • Make it unique - don't use this password anywhere else
    • Write it down and store it securely (you'll need to remember this!)
  5. Click "Create Account" or "Continue"

​1.2 Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) - CRITICAL!
  1. After creating your account, you'll be prompted to set up MFA
  2. Choose your MFA method:
    • Authenticator App (recommended): Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy
    • SMS (if available): Receive codes via text message
  3. If using an authenticator app:
    • Open your authenticator app on your phone
    • Click "Add Account" or the "+" button in the app
    • Scan the QR code displayed on your MyGlue screen
    • Enter the 6-digit code generated by your app
  4. IMPORTANT: Save your backup codes
    • Download or write down the backup codes provided
    • Store them in a safe place (not in MyGlue!)
    • You'll need these if you lose access to your phone
  5. Click "Finish Setup" or "Enable MFA"
2: Familiarize Yourself with the Interface
2.1 Dashboard OverviewOnce logged in, you'll see:
  • Left Sidebar: Navigation menu with Passwords, Clients, Folders, and Settings
  • Top Bar: Search box and your profile menu
  • Main Area: List of passwords and entries you have access to
  • Action Buttons: Usually a "+ New" or "Add" button to create entries

​2.2 Navigation Tips
  • Search Bar: Type anything to quickly find passwords
  • Filters: Use the left sidebar to filter by client, folder, or tags
  • Profile Menu: Click your name/avatar (top right) for account settings
3: Viewing Existing Passwords
3.1 Find a Password
  1. Use the search bar at the top:
    • Type the name of the account, website, or service
    • Results appear instantly as you type
  2. Or browse by category:
    • Click on folders in the left sidebar
    • Click on client names to see their passwords

3.2 View Password Details
  1. Click on any password entry from the list
  2. A detail panel opens showing:
    • Account name and username
    • Password (hidden by default)
    • Website URL
    • Notes and additional information
    • MFA codes (if configured)

3.3 Copy and Use a Password
  1. Find the password entry you need
  2. Click the entry to open details
  3. Click the "Copy" icon next to the password field
    • The password is copied to your clipboard
    • It will auto-clear after 30 seconds for security
  4. Paste it into your login form
  5. If there's a URL listed, click it to open the website directly

​3.4 View and Use MFA Codes
  1. Open the password entry that has MFA enabled
  2. Scroll to the "Two-Factor Authentication" or "MFA" section
  3. You'll see a 6-digit code with a countdown timer
  4. Click the "Copy" icon next to the code
  5. Paste it into the website's MFA prompt
  6. Watch the timer - the code expires every 30 seconds
4: Adding Your First Password
4.1 Create a New Password Entry
  1. Click the "+ New" button (usually top right or left sidebar)
  2. Select "Password" or "New Password Entry"
  3. A form will appear with these fields:

Basic Information:
  1. Title/Name: Give it a descriptive name
    • Example: "Company Email - [email protected]"
    • Make it easy to search for later
  2. Username: Enter the login username or email
    • Example: "[email protected]"
  3. Password: Enter the password or generate a new one
    • Click the "Generate" button for a strong random password
    • Recommended: Use generated passwords (16+ characters)
    • You can adjust the length and character types
  4. URL/Website: Add the website address
    • Example: "https://mail.google.com"
    • This creates a clickable link for quick access
  5. Organization:
  6. Client/Company: Select which client this belongs to (if applicable)
  7. Folder: Choose a folder to organize the entry
  • Examples: "Email Accounts", "Social Media", "Banking"
  1. Tags: Add searchable tags (optional)
    • Examples: "admin", "marketing", "billing"
Additional Details: 8. Notes: Add any important information

4.3 Save the Entry
  1. Review all information for accuracy

 5. Adding MFA to a Password Entry

5.1 When to Add MFAAdd MFA information when:
  •  Setting up two-factor authentication on a new account
  • Migrating MFA codes from another app

5.2 Add MFA During Account Setup (Recommended)
When creating a new account on a website:
  1. On the website, enable two-factor authentication
  2. The website will show you a QR code or secret key
  3. BEFORE scanning with your phone, open MyGlue
  4. Create or open the password entry for this account
  5. In MyGlue, find the "Two-Factor Authentication" section
  6. Choose how to add it:

Option A - Scan QR Code (Mobile App):
  1. Open MyGlue mobile app
  2. Navigate to the password entry
  3. Tap "Add MFA" or the camera icon
  4. Point your phone at the QR code on your computer screen
  5. MyGlue will automatically capture and save it

Option B - Manual Entry (Desktop):
  1. On the website, click "Can't scan QR code?" or "Manual entry"
  2. Copy the secret key shown (long string of letters/numbers)
  3. In MyGlue, click "Enter Secret Key Manually"
  4. Paste the secret key
  5. Click "Add" or "Save"
  6. MyGlue will now show a 6-digit code
  7. Enter this code on the website to complete MFA setup
  8. IMPORTANT: Save any backup codes the website provides in the Notes field

​5.3 Add MFA to Existing Entry
  1. Open the password entry
  2. Click "Edit" (pencil icon)
  3. Find the "Two-Factor Authentication" section
  4. Click "Add MFA" or "Setup 2FA"
  5. Follow the steps above (scan QR or enter manually)
  6. Click "Save"
